Private Dog Training Classes via Zoom
As much as I enjoy meeting with clients in person, virtual training sessions offer the same benefits as live sessions. The routine is the same. We have a discussion about your goals, I create a plan to reach those goals and we meet virtually. Once sessions are scheduled, we meet via zoom and I demo the behaviors that your dog should learn. Then, I give you time to practice and provide useful feedback that you can use to improve.

There are advantages to taking a private class via Zoom:
1) We start teaching our dogs new skills in easier environments. Since virtual training is done on the computer, this sets you and your dog up perfectly.
2) Is your dog hard to handle in the car or do they suffer from motion sickness? In a virtual training platform, there is no commute time and no car ride for dogs.
3) This format is great for dogs who have a tough time in a class setting, whether they are scared of unfamiliar people, are extremely excited about other dogs and/or people, or if they don’t get along with other dogs.
4) All from the safety and comfort of your own home.

To Prepare:
Watch Zoom’s video on getting up and running. (Note: Zoom is free for you to use. Since we are meeting privately, there won’t be an extra fee because there are only two of us.)
Use Zoom’s test feature to test your internet connection, video and audio ahead of the scheduled meeting time.
You’ll need a laptop, phone, or tablet with a webcam, an internet connection and access to Zoom. A laptop or computer with a webcam works best, but a phone or tablet will also suffice.
If using a smartphone or tablet, prop it up or use a tripod so you and your dog are in the frame.
Choose a well-lit, quiet location. Avoid backlighting, such as standing in front of a bright window.
Have an ample supply of dog treats and a hungry dog. You’ll want to have your dog’s leash handy, as well as any other items needed for your class exercises.
